學英文grammar有咩用？

有好多人都會問，學英文grammar有咩用？講英文，寫英文，又唔會用到。

的確，除非你教英文，否則人地點會同你討論，你依家講野用緊咩tense，點解用呢個tense，等等？

香港人學grammar學得厭倦了，佢地覺得與其學grammar，不如多練口語，多練寫作。但係如果對grammar豪冇認識咁練口語同寫作，可能會固化自己一路以黎犯嘅錯呢！

有啲人唔係唔識grammar，但淨係識操grammar，忽略左實戰、運用；又或一直太介懷自己grammar錯，而唔肯開口說話，動手寫，咁學法，當然係捉錯用神。

我哋講野寫野，的確唔會直接用到grammar，但冇左對grammar嘅認識，我哋有時根本無從判斷我地表達得好唔好、人地容唔容易明白！難進步，因為我哋根本無從檢討自己嘅語文水平。

文法（grammar）唔好輕視。英文嘅每個aspect存在，都有其道理，要認真啄磨。

So what is the point of making a deliberate study of grammar?

The answer is that the study of grammar brings your use of language up from the subconscious to the conscious level of your mind. This, in turn, allows you to use language more skilfully. It is much the same as with numeracy: you already know how to count, but the study of mathematics enhances your skill with numbers.
